1. Music Business Worldwide (MBW)
Our favourite new music industry newsletter comes from ex Music Week editor Tim Ingham. Launched this year, MBW delivers in-depth news, insight and analysis for the international music industry. From interviews to the latest acquisitions, this is a great resource with a global outlook.

2. ASCAP Daily Brief
This daily email is compiled by ASCAP Board member, music publisher and songwriter Dean Kay, who has provided songs for top recording artists including “That’s Life” for Frank Sinatra. Kay scours the web for the most interesting industry news and commentary from multiple sources, and there’s always the odd humorous article for good measure.

Published by Bruce Houghton, Hypebot provides daily news and commentary on the music industry and the technology and social media that drives it, for music industry professionals, indie labels, and DIY musicians. With guest posts from a huge range of industry pros, this is definitely not one to be missed.

CMU Daily is the most read daily news bulletin in the UK music community. It’s a great roundup of key developments across the music industry, as well as artist stories, tour dates and gossip. We highly recommend this daily news source that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

AWAL, Kobalt’s alternative to the traditional record label for independent artists, has a great weekly newsletter aimed specifically at the indie market. Each week they share tips, insights, interviews and more.

8. Motive Unknown’s Network Notes
Motive Unknown is a strategic digital marketing consultancy founded by former [PIAS] Head of Digital Marketing, Darren Hemmings. The company’s first client was Infectious Music and the first campaign was Alt-J’s platinum-selling “An Awesome Wave”. Since then, clients have included Sony RED, Domino Records, Brownswood, BMG Rights Management, Fabric, PIAS and more. The Daily Digest is a newsletter curated by Hemmings, summarising the day’s news in music, tech and apps.

According to its description, Music Tech Policy is a “survival guide to the creative apocalypse, following issues and opinion important to professional creators.” You can subscribe to both the blog and monthly newsletter, edited by attorney Chris Castle. Before launching his own legal firm, Chris was Senior Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs and General Counsel at SNOCAP, Inc., Senior Vice President, Business Affairs at Sony Music Entertainment, Inc. and Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs at A&M Records, Inc.
