In a Nutshell //
The Assistant Creative Manager is an intermediate creative position that will focus on supporting Symphonic’s Synchronization Licensing division, Bodega Sync. This role will perform a wide range of tasks related to A&R, creative pitching to sync briefs, production research, client relations and marketing. This position will be based in Los Angeles, CA and will come with some really cool perks as well to ensure you have the proper work/life balance.
What you will do //
- Manage the day to day process of signing new talent for sync representation
- Assess and provide critical feedback on prospective leads for our sync roster
- Work with new clients to ensure publishing and master rights are pre-cleared for licensing
- Maintain contact with our existing roster to ensure new and upcoming releases are delivered
- Prepare custom playlists of music from our catalog according to assigned briefs
- Create and update playlists based on various themes and genres
- Research new television series and films in development and production
- Assist in the creation of content for our weekly email, blog, and social media posts
- Maintain and update our internal contact database of music supervisors
- Attend local shows, events and conferences as needed
- Other tasks and duties as needed
What you need to have //
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Strong professional writing and communication skills
- Good ears and comprehensive knowledge of music in a wide variety of genres
- Being a self-starter, able to work independently and be productive without constant direction
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- A general understanding of the music industry
- Familiarity with standard audio file formats and metadata
- Proficiency in G Suite and MS Office
- Strong internet researching skills
- Ability to learn quickly, especially in terms of software and apps
- Highly organized and attentive to detail
What will set you apart //
- Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Business, or related field
- Previous experience working in sync licensing
- Existing relationships within the music supervision community
- Comprehension of the general concepts of sync licensing and copyright
- Contract preparation experience
- Being a musician, songwriter or music producer
- Experience with any of the following: DISCO, Airtable, Hellosign, Monday.com, Mailchimp, HubSpot, Chartmetric, IMDb Pro, WordPress, Slack, and Photoshop
- A great sense of humor
Additional Insights //
The Assistant Creative Manager will be required to report to the Head of Sync based in Brooklyn, NY daily on a variety of different tasks. Because of the long distance nature of this position, clear and prompt communication by email, Slack, texts, phone, etc is absolutely key.
