Songtrust is seeking an experienced music publishing royalties professional to support global royalty distributions for Songtrust’s and Downtown Music’s dynamic roster. The Senior Coordinator will help ensure the accurate, timely, and efficient distribution of royalties to Songtrust and Downtown clients. The role is responsible for helping to streamline output to our clients, ensuring all statements and payments are reported in accordance with our contractual obligations. The position will report to the Royalties Distribution Manager and can be based in New York, Nashville, or remote (discretionary: requires demonstrable professional experience working remotely).
What you’ll do:
- Support the preparation and delivery of 16+ separate, contractually obligated royalty distributions
- Support the preparation and dissemination of all client royalty statement reports for direct clients and courtesy reports for administered publisher clients
- Maintain quarterly and semi annual client account balances for both Songtrust’s and Downtown’s roster
- Work with the Accounting Department to ensure client balances reflect all monthly transactions
- Create various bespoke summary reports for our partner clients
- Determine all client payable balances per distribution for both Songtrust and Downtown
- Work with the Accounting Department to reconcile all royalty payments to verify accuracy
- Support and further develop relationships with the Client Services teams at Songtrust and Downtown and respond to their inquiries in a timely manner
- Help maintain documentation and storage of historical client facing reports for audit compliance and internal records
- Assist with quarterly reporting, ad hoc reports, and special projects as required by the Royalties & Finance Departments
- Help reimagine the various processes involved in each distribution to maximize our resources, increase efficiencies, and enhance the overall customer experience
You are / have:
- At least 2 years experience in royalty accounting is required, and general accounting experience is a huge advantage
- Strong Excel skills required
- Skilled in self-directed, high-quality execution in a high productivity environment with tight deadlines
- Experience with Vistex Music Maestro a plus
- Experience with SQL a plus
- Strong collaboration skills a must
- Strong verbal and written communications skills required
- Able to manage and prioritize highly variable work volumes and deadlines
- Organized and detail oriented
