Job Functions
Copyright Administration:
- Register songs with the US Copyright Office, either manually or using the Copyright Office’s online system
- Log registration and copyright certificate information into Mojo’s database
- Review songwriter and administration agreements to determine copyright ownership
- Conduct song research on PRO and MRO portals
- Review and manipulate large spreadsheets or data files for importing new deal data into Simply Royalties database
- Manually enter data into Simply Royalties, including but not limited to songwriter and publisher share information
- Respond to internal and external catalog and copyright inquiries in a timely manner
- Research and resolve split disputes with co-publishers, PROs and MROs
- Work closely with our affiliate offices, Sub-Publishers, PROs and MROs on Catalog Shipments / registrations
- Implement and oversee all aspects of the CWR process
- Handle various projects as directed by management
Qualified Candidates will possess the following skills:
- 3-5 years of experience in Music Publishing Copyright Administration
- Interest in and understanding of U.S. Copyright Law
- Experience with reading and understandingMusic Publishing agreements/contracts
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Extremely detail-oriented and highly organized; possessing excellent research skills
- The ability to self-prioritize multiple workloads and maintain a positive attitude under the pressure of deadlines
- The ability to quickly learn and master new software and technology applications
- Solid analytical and mathematical problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
This is a full-time position based in Nashville and includes benefits. This position is evolving and may eventually exclude some of the duties described above or include other functions not listed.
